Frequently asked questions
Method
Bizzon offers a complete service to collect your outstanding undisputed invoices.
All your invoices, including those for private individuals or foreign customers.
Probably the top question in Frequently Asked Questions about Bizzon
When you submit an outstanding invoice, we immediately start by sending an amicable demand.
During the legal period to still make payment, we carry out the necessary checks and prepare your file to potentially start a judicial process.
To maximise the chances of success for your case and limit the risk of costs, we also perform a thorough check on your customer’s financial situation.
We weigh up the choice between a procedure with an official report of non-dispute or a summons to obtain a ‘judgment’ on a case-by-case basis.
Amicable or judicial?
We will also organise the necessary follow-up steps such as seizure and public sale.
Please note: these additional costs are not automatically included in the agreement. However, we will attempt to recover them from the debtor as much as possible. Furthermore, we will always contact you in advance if there is a risk of additional costs for you.
This way, you always know where you stand and never risk any surprises.
Absolutely! You can certainly use Bizzon to obtain payment from companies abroad. It is important to know that our services are based on Belgian legislation and therefore do not always apply to foreign companies.
But no worries, if it concerns a foreign delivery of goods or services concluded under your Belgian terms, there are certainly possibilities. In that case, we can look together with you at the best approach to collect your outstanding invoices.
So whether it concerns companies in Belgium or beyond, at Bizzon you have come to the right place for professional and effective collection of your outstanding invoices.
Yes, that is possible.
You can collect overdue rent from a tenant via Bizzon. The conditions are the same as for any other unpaid invoice when it concerns a B2B debt, i.e., when both you and your tenant have a company number.
Bizzon is happy to help you collect this overdue rent so that you can concentrate on your business activities.
Even when it concerns private rent, Bizzon is happy to help you.
We are happy to discuss the possibilities on a case-by-case basis. We review your contract and the communication you have already conducted. We make as good an estimate as possible of the expected costs.
Do you want more certainty for the future? Then we can follow up on your tenant before a problem arises.
- Enter your company number and provide your details and those of your customer.
- Upload your invoice and any associated documents.
- We start your first file and send an amicable demand to the customer within two working days.
- If the customer does not pay, we take further steps such as obtaining a judgment, levying a seizure, and a public sale. Fortunately, in practice, this is often not necessary.
- You have now become acquainted with our way of working and our punctual communication regarding your file. We count on you to find us in the future if you are again confronted with a difficult payer. Your contribution is negligible in relation to the service you receive.
Certainly! Bizzon can also offer a convenient solution for small invoices of €70 or less. Often it is not worth going to a lawyer for this, but with Bizzon you can still collect your unpaid invoices quickly and efficiently.
Do not worry about those small but annoying outstanding amounts.
As soon as you have started a file against a customer, we get to work immediately. We send an amicable demand, prepare the file, and brief the lawyer or bailiff.
They then start with the research, the solvency investigation, and go physically on-site to serve the demand. If for any reason you decide to stop the file, you can. We will contact you immediately to see if we can still stop the delivery of the demand.
Please note: stopping a file may result in you being responsible for the costs yourself.
Be sure to request an interim settlement before you make promises to your customer.
We understand that customers sometimes have difficulty paying their invoices in full and immediately. Therefore, your customer can always propose a payment plan. If the proposed plan seems realistic to us, we will ask you if you can agree to the plan.
A good payment plan is often better than no plan at all.
If you agree, we will further monitor the payment plan.
If your customer complies with the payment plan, the procedure can be terminated upon full payment. But if your customer does not comply with the plan, the procedure simply continues. We will, of course, always keep you informed of the evolution of the file.
Does your customer still pay you after starting your file?
That is good news. Let us know as soon as possible when you have received which amount, so that we can stop the file.

We understand that it is important for you to know what is and is not included in our services.
When it comes to costs, we would like to reassure you. When extra enforcement costs have to be incurred by the bailiff, these costs are not automatically charged. We only take action after we have informed you.
Should it come to the point where extra costs have to be incurred, we try to recover these costs from the debtor as much as possible.
This way, we count on you eventually receiving the principal amount of your invoice. But know that you will never be faced with surprises. We always keep you informed and ensure that you are aware of possible additional costs in advance.

Bizzon is committed to every file to achieve a successful recovery.
Although we are proud of our success rate of more than 80%, we unfortunately cannot offer guarantees due to the unpredictable nature of the debt collection world.
If your file belongs to the minority of cases in which we do not succeed in reaching a solution, there may unfortunately be costs involved. However, the costs of an unsettled file depend on various factors, and we always inform you before we incur costs.
The End
The different ways in which a file can be closed are as follows:
- Termination due to bankruptcy of your customer: despite our preparation, we can unfortunately never be completely sure about what will happen to your customer. If your customer goes bankrupt during the procedure, the costs actually incurred by the bailiffs are for your account. We and the lawyer do not charge operating costs, but we cannot take responsibility for the costs via the bailiff.
- Termination in consultation with you: during the amicable phase of your file, we investigate your customer’s solvency for free. If we estimate based on this that your customer will not be able to pay, we discuss with you whether we will proceed with the procedure. If you do not want to continue, we do not charge any costs for this file. If you do continue, we may charge bailiff costs if the file turns out to be unsuccessful after all.
- Dispute of your invoice: if your customer files a protest during the collection process, your invoice is legally no longer considered undisputed. Our lawyer will discuss with you what the impact of this protest is. It is possible that we can still handle the procedure free of charge, but we will also inform you about the risks involved.
In short, if your file belongs to the 20% of cases in which we do not succeed in reaching a solution, we will discuss the possible costs with you. Our goal is to be transparent about costs and to support you as best as possible in actively collecting your outstanding invoices.
Debtor management
Debtor management is the entire process of managing outstanding payments from customers. This includes following up on payments, negotiating payment terms, and taking action against customers who have overdue payments.
Debtor management is an important task for any company that sells products or services to customers. Managing outstanding payments is an effective way to protect your income and ensure that you have the financial resources to further develop your business.
With an effective debtor management process, you can help customers make their payments on time, while simultaneously protecting your company’s cash flow. This makes it possible to develop your long-term financial plans and grow without worrying about overdue payments.
Automatic debtor management also means that you can spend more time and energy on running your business, instead of focusing on following up on payments.
Let the right people take debtor management off your hands and rest assured that your income will arrive on time.
By setting clear payment terms and sending timely payment reminders, you actually improve your relationship with customers. Good agreements make good friends.
By letting the right people take debtor management off your hands, you can ensure that your cash flow remains healthy.
Let debtor management be taken off your hands and let your company grow in a healthy and efficient way.
Strong debtor management does not start with reminders.
It starts with clear communication and a process that is correct.
Those who consistently follow up on customers and use — and enforce — clear payment terms win not days, but weeks of cash flow.
But communication alone is not enough.
You must set up your system so that it works for you, not the other way around.
Where do you make the difference?
• Invest in technology
Manual follow-up is slow and error-prone.
Use software that automates your debtor management and link your bank account to your invoicing. This way, your aging is always correct and you work with up-to-date data.
• Negotiate your payment terms consciously
Not every customer deserves the same terms.
Align your payment terms with what is workable — for both parties — without putting your own cash flow under pressure.
• Ensure your team is on board
Debtor management is not a task for one person.
Ensure your employees understand the effect of late payments and how to follow up correctly.
• Keep optimising
What works today might be too slow tomorrow.
Regularly evaluate your approach and adjust where necessary.
Those who handle this well gain control.
Those who neglect it lose cash.
You can get this in order internally.
Or you can outsource it and choose a system that works for you every day.
Debtor management is one of the most important factors affecting a company’s cash flow. Difficult payers can quickly lead to financial problems.
A well-managed debtor portfolio ensures a healthy cash flow.
Some ways in which debtor management can affect your company’s cash flow:
- Regular income stream: Through effective debtor management, you can ensure that you receive regular income, which contributes to a healthy cash flow.
- Reduction of overdue payments: A well-managed debtor portfolio helps in reducing overdue payments, leading to better cash flow.
The debtor management process is a crucial step for the financial health and continuity of your company.
Some steps in debtor management that can help you protect your income:
- Setting up good payment terms that match your way of working. Together with you, we draw up clear payment terms so that your customers know exactly what to expect when it comes to payments.
- Sending invoices and reminders
Send out invoices regularly and ensure you send payment reminders on time, so your customers know they still have to pay. - Negotiating payment terms
Work with your customers to negotiate payment terms that are workable for both parties. - Legal action
As a last resort, we can take legal action against customers who do not fulfill their agreements.
With these steps in the debtor management process, you ensure that your customers receive the right service, while you simultaneously protect and safeguard your income.
One of the Frequently Asked Questions about Bizzon: When is it time to call in external help for debtor management?
This is when you are unable to realise your outstanding payment yourself within a reasonable time.
Do you recognise the problem? Previously, you paid for the purchases of your next project with the income from the completed project. Today, however, you have to wait longer and longer for your money while your supplier gives less extension.
Do you find it difficult to follow up on your customers yourself?
Invoice not paid
When a debtor protests, it is no longer a matter of collecting an undisputed invoice. In that case, we always discuss the risk of costs before we continue the collection through the court. It is still possible to proceed to get your money back, but then through the court.
If an investigation shows that your debtor is not solvent, we will contact you to inform you of the risk.
You then decide whether you want to terminate or continue the procedure. If you choose to stop the procedure, in most cases this can still be done free of charge and you will receive a free certificate of irrecoverability. This way you can remove the turnover from your books and possibly recover VAT already paid.
Sometimes collection is about principles
If you decide to proceed anyway and your debtor goes bankrupt or enters judicial reorganisation, you bear the risk of additional costs yourself.
An undisputed invoice is an invoice to which your customer does not respond.
If your customer protests part of the invoice, you accept the protest and rectify it with a credit note, the non-protested part is considered an undisputed invoice.
For example, if you sent an invoice for €5,000 and after protest from the customer agree to a reduction of €500 and send a credit note, you can still collect the outstanding balance of €4,500 via Bizzon.
However, if the invoice is protested in its entirety, you can use our lawyer via Bizzon, but a rate will be agreed upon to proceed with collection through the court. This is because we cannot always recover the costs from the opposing party.
If you have not contractually provided for interest or a penalty clause, you can rely on the Law on combating payment arrears in commercial transactions. As a result, with an unpaid and non-protested invoice, you are entitled to a fixed compensation on top of the principal amount anyway. However, it is always recommended to use good invoice terms. These invoice terms determine the rules, create clarity, and avoid discussions.
Tip: always provide clear invoice terms to safeguard your rights.
